My Recruiting Experience
As a high school senior, I fixated on one elite university where I dreamed of playing soccer. After the preread, the coach advised me to apply to the general college, but I ignored him and aimed for the very selective business school. I didn’t get in. Fortunately, Hamilton’s coach offered me a last-minute roster spot. That experience taught me humility and flexibility, lessons I’ve shared with every recruit I've worked with, including my two sons—a current college soccer player and a soon-to-be college basketball player.
Being A Collegiate Athlete
Playing college soccer remains one of the most defining experiences of my life. The competition was awesome, and balancing academics with athletics pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. Every practice, bus ride, and late-night study grind shaped who I am today. More than thirty years later, the friendships built through those seasons remain some of my strongest bonds—a reminder that the game gave me far more than wins and losses.
